For this assignment, we needed to revise 3 poems. The first poem I wrote in this submission was written about a personified version of your imagination. The second poem I wrote, was the story of a rope and the final poem was about the color gray. This assignment and this class in general, has worked hard to build our global awareness skills. Our professor is always encouraging broadening our perspectives and writing about things we have not experienced. I find punctuating poems difficult because the rules of punctuation are open-ended. In poems, punctuation works as emphasizing points. Not only are they used as they would be in traditional writing, but punctuation is also used to strengthen points.I am proud of this assignment because I was able to apply the skills our professor emphasized in class while composing in a lyrical manner. I developed my global awareness skills through this project because I needed to reflect on the experiences of others around the world to help me develop the struggles represented in my writing. This relates to work I have done in English 100. English 100 emphasized using my logical mind and working to create strong images. Now, in English 104, I am creating strong images with the help of my creative mind. I can apply the teachings of Professor Wood to future writing classes because I will continue to write through images. Professor Wood also emphasizes the importance of using your imagination in a free manner. This makes it easier for me to write in general.
