In quarter one of Humanities we were assigned a privilege walk essay. Before writing this essay, we participated in a privilege walk to score our level of privilege. The essay answered how the activity made us feel, how it changed our views on privilege, and if we feel our lack or abundance of privilege defines our ability to pursue and achieve our dreams.
WHY I CHOSE TO INCLUDE THIS ASSIGNMENT IN MY PORTFOLIO
Writing this essay really made me think of all the fortunate things I had in my life. It made me appreciate the sacrifices my parents made for me. I enjoyed writing something personal and meaningful. I chose this to display because I think it made me appreciate my life more.
THE 21ST CENTURY SKILL REPRESENTED IN THIS ASSIGNMENT
The 21st Century skill represented in this project was thinking and problem solving. This essay consisted of lots of thinking and analysis of my life and my opportunities. I had to face basic problems as I had to think of ways to express my views in understandable matters.
HOW THIS ASSIGNMENT DEMONSTRATES MY GROWTH
This project required me to analyze the different aspects of my life in which some I am more fortunate. This essay challenged me to think and overall made me appreciate life. I showcased my growth through my writing and analysis skills.
AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT WITHIN MY PRIVILEGE WALK ESSAY
In my writing I need to improve my punctuation. I seem to commonly mix up commas and semicolons and need to focus on fixing this mistake.
